Roof claims get denied every day, and flat and commercial roofs get denied most. Many denials come down to how the damage was documented, not whether it's there.
- "Wear and tear." The adjuster says it's age, not the storm.
- "No functional damage." Hail marks on flat and metal roofs get called cosmetic.
- "Pre-existing damage." The insurer says it was there before the storm.
- "Filed too late." The claim missed the policy's deadline.
